Michael Rade, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Michael Rade

After graduation from Williams College cum laude with honors in chemistry, Dr. Michael Rade attended SUNYAB School of Medicine. There he received the surgical award of excellence upon graduation. His residency in general surgery was completed at SUNYAB which included a fellowship in traumatology in Hanover, Germany.

Specializing in general, laparoscopic and vascular surgery, he currently serves as Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Mercy Hospital. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of surgery at SUNYAB and Chief of the School of Medicine's division of Community Surgeons.

Dr. Rade is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. past Governor of the College, Chairman of the local chapter's admission committee, and a Diplomat of the American Board of Surgery. Other affiliations include THE Buffalo Surgical Society, WNY Vascular Society, WNY Chapter of the American College of Surgery, NYS Medical Society, Erie County Medical Society, Society of Clinical Vascular Surgery, Eastern Vascular Society, and The Medical Union.

After many years in private practice, Dr. Rade joins South Towns Surgical.
